“ We had a delicious meal there last night. The food was awesome, the drinks delicious and the service was attentive and warm. This is a gem spot where the Chef, a numerous James Beard nominee, puts his heart and soul in to every dish and it shows. This is upscale dining, but not white table cloth nor is it pretentious. ”

“ loved everything about this place, besides the fact that i was freezing, so bring a jacket if you run cold. BUT as soon as i was able to enjoy the food, it was enough to distract me from shivering, so much so it won't stop be from giving this place all my stars. The pasta shells were just aldente enough without it feeling too crunchy, the perfect texture, and it didn't feel overly greasy like some short rib pastas i've had in the past. I wasn't a huge fan of the branzino, felt like it was too saucy for my preference but the flavor was there! Truffle was also so good, crispy bits at the bottom reminds me of a dish from home. Service was quick, knowledgeable, and kind. Will come back for certain. ”

“ The food was incredible! We came hungry and ordered the clam chowder fries, sherry roasted carrots, kale salad, Thai red curry branzino and the pan seared mahi mahi. The branzino was to die for. My husband and I have been to Thailand and this took us back. It was the perfect amount of aromatics and sauce with a perfectly cooked branzino on top of a modest sized bed of rice. We devoured it. Our waitress was wonderful in making recommendations and we left satisfied. We started the night with the spicy grapefruit margarita with a tajin rim. If you like a little kick to your marg, this is a great choice. The ambiance was wonderful. We had a reservation at 8:30 and were seated at 8:42. It is a small venue with minimal seating and no bar standing space so definitely make a reservation and prepare to wait a short amount of time. ”

“ I've been dying to try this black-owned restaurant because of their story and the many accolades they have received over the years! Since it is a smaller space and popular, reservations are a must. Although the service was a little slower than expected, the food was worth the wait! Everything was cooked to perfection and great. The outdoor ambiance was nice (we could only get a patio reservation). I would recommend this place for a cute date night or dinner with a friend! ”

“ The Katherine was recommended to me, so I went on a weekend before going to see a Guy Bavli show. Very small and unassuming from the outside, but such a beautiful ambiance on the inside. Dark, cozy, loved the atmosphere so much. It can be a bit small and cramped, but there's outdoor seating, too. I recommend making a reservation. I didnt, only had to wait about 10 minutes, but did have to sit at the bar. We ordered the whipped ricotta, thai style charred cabbage salad and the heirloom tomato and burrata. When I say all three dishes were EXPLODING with flavor, I am not at all kidding! The Thai style charred cabbage salad was my favorite! Super tender cabbage and pork (its supposed to be crispy pork, I didnt get many crispy pieces but didn't mind), a delicious acidic flavor, and a huge plate of food. The heirloom tomato and burrata salad?! Fresh, crisp, creamy, salty, sweet, the literal perfect dish that I could probably eat every single day and never get sick of. Finally, the whipped ricotta served with toasted sourdough was divine. My only complaint is I wish it was 5 times the size so that it never had to end. I had such a phenomenal, relaxing time at this restaurant. Nice wait staff who all help each other out, a limited menu which helps indecisive people like me, and mind-blowing food that you will absolutely come back for. Couldn't ask for a better Saturday night. ”

“ Really delicious and unique flavors!! Tuna crispy rice was unbelievable flavors and textures. Shrimp Ceviche had an incredible coconut milk broth that was the tiniest bit spicy. Oxtail was so unique, incredible rich flavor and delicious veggies served with it. Hard to describe the type of food so I had to ask the waiter. He said one owner is Cambodian and Thai, the other is Indian, Trinidadian, and something else. They traveled the world together and so the menu is a reflection of their cultures. Wasn't a huge fan of the red sangria but that is just me. ”

“ Your next date night is here! We were so lucky to get a last minute reservation for two inside of the Katherine (there is indoor and outdoor seating). As we made the trek up to Ft. Lauderdale from Miami, I had no idea what to expect as my partner picked this spot for us to try. The first thing I noticed which I thought was a cute detail, was the parking lot in the back (though small) had a parking sign dedicated to spots for the Katherine. I always appreciate when logistics are specified in these ways. Other than that, I think street parking is the next option. When we walked into The Katherine, we were quickly seated by who we would find out just minutes after by our server, WAS Katherine! Our dinner experience thus started with their love story--our server explained the concept that The Katherine is a love story in restaurant form with husband as chef, and wife as operational guru with each dish commemorating some of their favorite dishes from all of their travel. SWOON! With that said, the service was excellent. From passionate explanations of the dishes, and huge genuine smiles in our interactions with our server, we could tell that the Katherine was a special place. That evening we leaned into their Asian-inspired dishes with a hamachi crudo that was fresh and filled your mouth with a saline/apple combo that was to die for, charred Thai cabbage and pork which surprised us with the flavor and warmth, and their branzino red curry which the fish was cooked to perfection--light and flavorful. All of this paired with some delicious wine from their fairly extensive menu and ended with a Mexican-inspired cinnamon vanilla churro-bread pudding-ish desert. I can't wait to go back--please do yourself a favor and grab some reservations here for your next date night! ”
